What is Unfazed Network?

Unfazed Network is a Meanjin/Brisbane based music publication dedicated to helping new and emerging creatives get into the scene and grow as artists.

What does that exactly mean?

We’re the loophole to the industry. Before starting Unfazed and when I first decided I wanted to become a concert photographer, I had no idea where to start. I had my Canon 70d and a few dozen images from a youth group as a portfolio.

I was 14 and had no clue how to start shooting at concerts or how to get into the scene so I started emailing bands, managers, venues, literally anyone who I could hunt down a contact for and beg them for a chance. After months of hard work and attempting to network, the manager of RUEL gave me a pass to an AA show at The Tivoli and after that night I never looked back.

Now I’ve been working full time as a creator based in Brisbane for 5+ years and as I go into my early 20s I’m excited to use the years of experience and hustle, to now help new creators who have the passion and drive for the art but need someone to give them a chance.

Becoming a contributor to Unfazed and a part of our crew means we’ll send you to shows and help you build a portfolio while showcasing your work along the way. But this isn’t JUST for content creators, we’re designed for local, by local. If you’re a band keen to have a new release reviewed or a gig shot - a mixed media artist, graphic designer, painter who wants to share their art - then let’s chat!

Have a look at our FAQs below and if you’re keen on getting a show covered or written about, want to get involved, or even to join our team head over to the Contact Us page and let’s chat!

FAQs

How do I become a contributor?

If you’re a photographer, videographer or writer who’s keen to go to shows, interview bands, help when we put on our own shows and more then feel free to send us your latest work or portfolios to gabi@unfazed.net.au and let’s chat!

Do I need to be 18+?

Being U18 and wanting to get into the scene is tough but not impossible. Some venues are strict and it’s a no go. Others require a chaperone for shows that’s 18+ -and most times we send you off to AA shows with a media pass to gain the exposure and build up your portfolio until you’re 18.

Aside from concerts and venues, we’re always working on new projects, including live recording sessions, workshops and more so feel free to get in touch and let us know your interests!

How do I get involved at the Unfazed shows?
